Terms and Conditions of Service
By attempting to connect to this system, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions of Service (TCS). If you do not agree, disconnect immediately.
- Every channel on GamesNET is to be set '+R'. This ensures that unregistered users must register before
taking part in any type of conversion in a channel.
- #gamesnet and #support, the network help channels, are exempt from rule 1.
- Every user on GamesNET is to be set '+R'. This ensures that unregistered users must register before taking part
in any type of conversation with another user.
- GamesNET staff is exempt from rule 2.
- Only registered users can create new channels.
- Channels can only be registered by registered users. Channels can only be registered via direct conversation
with a GamesNET staff member. This ensures that the creator is not automated, and that their intentions are
noble.
- Unregistered channels are to remain '+s' at all times.
- Registered channels may not have a blank topic, or a topic with extreme control codes. This ensures the /LIST
readout is pretty and concise.
- Registered channels will expire within 3 days of being unused if the access list contains less than 10 users,
or 14 days if the access list contains 10 or more users.
- User accounts expire in 45 days of inactivity, unless the account is in vacation mode. When a user account expires
or is unregistered, in all channels that they own the next highest user on the access list will gain control of the
channel. If there are no more users, the channel will expire.
- Cross-channel spam will result in a minimum 24-hour network ban.
- Channels registered for radio networks are not allowed to conduct prank calls.
- Trading of illicit material is not allowed. File sharing bots are not allowed.
- GamesNET staff will not abuse users. Abuse is the use of administrative power (kill/akill etc) or any powers granted
by special access to network resources that would interfere with any user chatting. Users who repeatedly spam, evade
network-wide bans, or affect the network as a whole (bots, etc) are exempt from this protection. We take abuse
seriously, please report abuse (with logs) to the network administrator: kuja@gamesnet.com.
- Any user affecting actions performed by opers (kills, akills) will be prefixed with a reason stemming from this list
of terms and conditions. Akills without valid reasons will be removed.
- GamesNET Staff is the final interpreter of these terms and conditions.
